Marcela completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology (MPsych (Clinical) at the University of Canberra. Marcela is a clinical psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Previously, she completed a Bachelor in Science in Psychology and obtained a first class for her Honours (BscPsych (Hons)). 

Marcela is passionate about using cognitive behaviour therapies, like Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with presentations such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, acute stress, relationship issues, change of careers, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, sleep difficulties, self-esteem, chronic pain, and body image.

Before becoming a clinical psychologist, Marcela worked as a language teacher in Australia and overseas. She is very familiar with the interests and concerns of children, adolescents and families. She also loves working with young adults and clients over 65.

Marcela’s strengths lie in her ability to listen, as well as her warm and caring approach. She is from a multilingual background and highly competent in communicating with people from culturally diverse backgrounds. In addition to English, she can conduct therapy and assessments in Spanish, and French.

As part of her studies, Marcela completed a thesis on the role of self-esteem as a protective factor in the prevention of negative body image. She feels privileged to help clients discover how to live a more meaningful and rich life.

Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (**every second Saturday)
